Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FinTax (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit https://fintax.cc, submit a form, create an account, purchase or request services, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our website and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
This policy does not replace an engagement letter, a legally required tax-information consent, or a service-specific privacy notice. If another notice applies to a particular service or jurisdiction, that notice may supplement this policy.

Some of this information may be considered sensitive personal information under applicable law.

- limited payment-card or bank-payment information made available to us by a payment processor; and
- communications, support requests, call notes, approvals, feedback, testimonials, and survey responses.
Payment processors may collect and process payment information directly under their own privacy notices. Do not send payment-card security codes or online banking credentials by email, text, or a general website form.
1.4 Website and Device Information
When you use the website, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, approximate location derived from IP address, and referring webpage;
- pages viewed, links clicked, dates and times of visits, session information, cart or checkout activity, and interactions with forms; and
- cookie identifiers, security logs, error logs, and similar technical information.
1.5 Information You Submit Through Forms or Uploads
We collect the information and files you submit through contact, appointment, account, checkout, review, and upload functions. General website forms, standard email, and consumer messaging applications are not intended for tax returns, Social Security numbers, identity documents, bank credentials, or similarly sensitive records unless we expressly direct you to an approved secure method.
2. Sources of Information
We may collect information:
- directly from you;
- from your spouse, dependent, employer, business, authorized representative, prior professional, financial institution, payroll provider, bookkeeping platform, or other person you authorize;
- from tax authorities, public records, professional databases, and identity-verification sources as permitted by law;
- from vendors and platforms used to provide the Services; and
- automatically when you use the website.
If you provide personal information about another person, you represent that you are authorized to provide it and will deliver any notice or obtain any permission required by law.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to inquiries and determine whether we can accept an engagement;
- verify identity, prevent fraud, conduct conflict checks, and secure accounts;

- process payments, issue invoices, manage refunds, and collect amounts due;
- maintain records, improve operations, train personnel, perform quality review, and manage risk;
- operate, troubleshoot, analyze, personalize, and secure the website;
- comply with tax, accounting, licensing, sanctions, anti-fraud, legal, regulatory, insurance, and professional obligations;
- establish, exercise, or defend legal and professional claims; and
- send service updates or marketing communications as permitted by law and your choices.
We do not use tax return information for unrelated marketing or disclose it for unrelated purposes unless permitted by law and, where required, you provide a separate valid consent.
4. Tax Return Information and Section 7216
Federal law restricts a tax return preparer’s use and disclosure of tax return information. FinTax will use or disclose tax return information only as permitted by Internal Revenue Code Section 7216 and its regulations, other applicable law, or a valid consent.
When a particular use or disclosure requires consent, FinTax will provide a separate consent form containing the legally required disclosures and signature process. Agreeing to this Privacy Policy does not constitute Section 7216 consent and is not a condition of receiving tax preparation services where conditioning services on consent is prohibited.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients, subject to applicable law and any required consent:
5.1 Personnel, Affiliates, and Contractors
We may provide access to employees, affiliated professionals, and contractors who need information to perform services, administration, quality control, security, or support. They must be subject to confidentiality and security obligations appropriate to their role.
5.2 Service Providers
We may use service providers for website hosting, cloud storage, client portals, tax and accounting software, e-filing, document management, electronic signatures, communications, scheduling, payment processing, identity verification, cybersecurity, analytics, professional support, and similar operational functions. They may process information only for authorized services and subject to contractual or legal safeguards where required.
5.3 Government and Tax Authorities
We may disclose information to the Internal Revenue Service, state and local tax agencies, foreign tax authorities, courts, regulators, licensing bodies, or other government entities to prepare or submit authorized filings, respond to lawful process, meet professional obligations, or comply with law.
5.4 Persons You Authorize
We may disclose information to a spouse, family member, business associate, attorney, financial professional, prior preparer, lender, insurer, or other person only when you authorize the disclosure or applicable law otherwise permits it. A joint return or shared business engagement may involve information belonging to more than one person; the applicable Engagement Agreement should address access and communications.
5.5 Professional Advisers and Protection of Rights
We may disclose information to legal counsel, insurers, auditors, security specialists, and other professional advisers when reasonably necessary to obtain advice, manage risk, investigate misconduct, enforce agreements, or establish, exercise, or defend claims, subject to applicable tax-information restrictions.
5.6 Business Transactions
Information may be reviewed or transferred in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, succession plan, or transfer of the tax practice, subject to confidentiality, applicable law, and any required notice or consent.
5.7 Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, professional rule, or regulatory request, or is necessary to protect rights, prevent fraud, address a security incident, or protect a person from harm. When legally permitted and appropriate, we may notify you before producing information.
6. Croass-Border Processing
FinTax serves clients with domestic and international matters and may use personnel or service providers located outside the United States. As a result, information may be accessed or processed in countries whose privacy laws differ from those where you live.
Any access to or disclosure of tax return information outside the United States will be restricted as required by Section 7216 and other applicable law. FinTax will obtain a separate consent when required and will mask or otherwise restrict access to Social Security numbers and other information when the law requires it. Cross-border personnel and vendors must be subject to appropriate confidentiality, access, and security controls.
7. We Do Not Sell Tax Return Information
FinTax does not sell or rent tax return information. FinTax does not disclose tax return information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not exchange sensitive tax or financial information for money or use it to advertise unrelated third-party products without lawful authorization and any required consent.
Some privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly. If our website practices later fall within those definitions, we will provide any legally required notice and choice mechanism before engaging in the practice.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies for:
- essential operation, account sign-in, shopping-cart and checkout functions;
- security, fraud prevention, load balancing, and troubleshooting;
- remembering preferences and form entries;
- measuring website use, referral sources, and performance; and
- marketing only where permitted by law and consistent with your choices.
You can control many cookies through your browser settings and any cookie-preference tool we make available. Blocking cookies may prevent some website features from working. Third-party content, social media links, and embedded features may allow the third party to collect information under its own privacy policy.
9. Communications and Marketing Choices
We may send service-related messages needed to manage an inquiry, account, engagement, payment, filing, or security matter. You may opt out of promotional email by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. You may request to stop promotional text messages by replying STOP where available. Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary transactional or legal communications.
FinTax will not use tax return information to market non-tax services where Section 7216 or another law requires consent unless valid consent has been obtained.
10. Reviews, Comments, and Public Content
If the website allows reviews, comments, testimonials, or other public submissions, information you post may be visible to the public. Do not include tax, financial, identity, or other confidential information in public content.
When comments are enabled, the website may collect the information entered in the comment form, IP address, and browser information for security and spam detection. A hashed version of an email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine whether the commenter uses that service. If a comment is approved, an associated profile image may appear publicly. Public submissions may remain visible until removed in accordance with our moderation practices and applicable law.
If you upload an image for public display, remove embedded location data, including EXIF GPS data, if you do not want visitors to be able to extract it.
11. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to complete an engagement, support prior work, comply with tax-preparer and professional obligations, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Retention periods vary by record type, service, jurisdiction, legal hold, and contractual requirement. When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, anonymize, or de-identify it, subject to technical limitations and lawful backup practices.
12. Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information based on the nature of the information and our operations. These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption, personnel training, vendor oversight, backups, monitoring, and incident-response procedures.
No transmission, storage system, or security program can guarantee absolute security. For that reason, do not use ordinary email, a general contact form, or WhatsApp to transmit Social Security numbers, full tax returns, bank credentials, or identity documents unless FinTax has expressly approved that method for the information involved. Contact us if you need an approved secure submission method.
If we determine that notice of a data incident is required, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
13. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on your residence and applicable law, you may have the right to request that we:
- confirm whether we process your personal information;
- provide access to or a copy of certain information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete certain information;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- provide certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent for future processing where processing is based on consent; or
- review a decision concerning a privacy request.
These rights are not absolute. Tax, accounting, legal, professional, security, and record-retention obligations may require or permit us to keep or use information. Information governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or other sector-specific laws may be exempt from some state privacy-law rights.
To make a request, email info@fintax.cc with the subject line “Privacy Request.” Describe your request and the relationship through which FinTax received your information. We may verify your identity and authority before responding. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and identity. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
14. Children’s Privacy
The website and Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child through the website. A client may provide dependent information when needed for lawful tax or accounting services. If you believe a child submitted information without appropriate authorization, contact us.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
The website may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, portals, messaging services, social networks, payment services, or embedded content. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, not this policy. Review those notices before providing information.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, vendors, or business practices. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change applies.
